Prepare for the Next Austin Freeze
Happy New Year from the team at CenTexSprinklers! While January in Central Texas can be unpredictable, it’s the most critical time to protect your irrigation investment. Before the next hard freeze hits the Hill Country, take these three steps:
Insulate Your Backflow: Ensure your backflow preventer is wrapped in an insulated pouch or heat tape.
Drain the Main Line: If a deep freeze is forecasted, shut off the main water supply to your sprinklers and drain the lines to prevent cracked pipes.
Controller Check: Set your controller to "Off" or "Standby." Your grass is dormant and doesn't need much help right now.
January Water Conservation Tip
Turn it off! With the cooler temperatures and lower evaporation rates, most Austin lawns only need water once every two to three weeks—if at all. Let Mother Nature handle the watering this month to save on your city water bill.

"We saved over 25% on our water bill last month compared to last year. It’s great knowing the system isn't running when it doesn't need to!" — Sarah M.
