Spring is Calling: Is Your System Ready?
While we might still have a few chilly nights in Central Texas, February is the "sweet spot" for maintenance. Don't wait until May when every irrigation company in Austin has a three-week backlog!
Our February Checklist:
Inspect the Heads: Check for any cracked sprinkler heads caused by lawnmowers or winter ground shifts.
Clear the Overgrowth: Trim back grass or mulch that has buried your spray heads over the winter.
Test the Backup Battery: If your controller lost power during a winter storm, ensure your settings are still saved.
Water Conservation Tip: The "Catch Can" Test
Want to know if your system is actually efficient? Place empty tuna cans or small cups around your yard and run a zone for 10 minutes.
The Goal: Even water levels in every can.
The Reality: If one can is full, and another is empty, you’re wasting water in one spot while killing grass in another.
Customer Spotlight: The Thompson Project
This month, we’re highlighting a xeriscaping project in West Lake Hills. We converted their high-maintenance turf zones to a precision Drip Irrigation system for their native Texas Star Hibiscus and Agave.
"CenTexSprinklers made the switch so easy. Our water usage dropped significantly, and the plants are thriving!" — David T.
